*Please note that I bill on a pro-rated basis for case management and professional consultation*
I accept all major credit cards as forms of payment. Payment is due in full at the start of each session.
Cancellation Policy
I maintain a 24-hour cancellation policy. That means that if you call or email to cancel with at least 24 hours of notice, you will not be charged for the original session time. If you miss the appointment or need to cancel within 24 hours, you will be charged the full session fee for the missed time slot.
Insurance
I am not in-network with any insurance companies, but many insurance companies will reimburse a portion of my fee as part of ‘out-of-network’ benefits. You are responsible for paying the full session fee at the time of our appointment, and I can provide you with an itemized receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company. I encourage you to call your insurance company to find out what your mental health benefits are.
No Surprises Act
As part of the ‘No Surprises Act’ (H.R. 133), effective January 1 2022, you have the right to request a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total expected cost of our services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
FAQ
How does therapy with Liz work?
Our therapy process will start with a 15-minute complimentary consultation over video so that I can learn more about you and your therapy goals. If we decide that it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule a session either in person or over a HIPAA-compliant video platform.
The first 1-2 sessions will be assessment and treatment planning. I will get a more in-depth sense of how I can provide you with the best therapy possible and we will establish more concrete goals for your therapy.
Your therapy will be customized to meet your specific struggles, strengths, and goals. I use a variety of effective, proven methods in my therapy work.
You and I will work together to identify which of these methods work best for you.
How often will I come to therapy?
While I generally start with weekly 50-minute sessions, this is flexible and can be more or less frequent based on your needs and availability.
I also offer 75-minute sessions if that feels like a better option.
How long will therapy last?
That all depends. It's not possible to predict exactly how long therapy will "take", but...
If you are looking for a more brief, solution-focused therapy style to meet goals and move on with your life (which I totally get), you can expect to be in therapy for ~3-6 months. This type of therapy will also require between-session practice on the skills you are learning. The more work you put in, the faster you'll feel the change.
If you are looking for a longer-term therapeutic relationship, or have a few different goals you'd like to reach, then therapy can take longer. Like I said, it all depends on what you are looking for!
My mission is to equip you with the tools that you need to navigate your life in a way that leaves you feeling calm, confident, and excited about your life, both present and future.
I look forward to working with you!
